Snoopy Museum Tokyo, Japan

I recently went to Tokyo (May 2023) and as part of my trip managed to plan a visit to the Snoopy Museum. To say this was one of my favourite museums ever, is an understatement... The museum was bigger than I expected, jam packed with illustrations, comics, sculptures and really well put together information throughout.
All designed and thought out in a fun but minimal and easy to navigate space. It's a 35 minute train ride from Shibuya at a place called Grandberry Park (which was also a cool place to visit as an out of town shopping park, but like, a really nice Japanese version compared to our boring UK ones...). It's definitely a day trip vibe to visit this museum.

I always liked Peanuts, but had never really realised the extent of work Charles Schulz had created and all the different eras of Snoopy. There was so much on show at this very comprehensive dedicated spot!

The huge sculptures were fun.

Seeing his original comics up close was really cool to see Schulz's line work, ink accidents and cover ups (there were lots of bits of white paint over mistakes!) I loved seeing his process up close...

And the licensing.. and toys! So many cool pieces throughout the space on show.

My boyfriend Sam in the dog house...

Outside also had tons of giant Snoopy sculptures to tick off and find via a little map they gave you.

There was also a Snoopy themed cafe but the queue was super long when we were there so we unfortunately didn't get to try it (though we did eat at the Harajuku Snoopy Cafe - another post to come?!)
I'd highly recommend this amazing place if you are visiting Tokyo and keen to see some interesting unique museums. Grandberry Park also has lots of mall-type shops, some arcades and a rather large Japanese pet shop (if you're into that) which was also fun to visit so certainly worth spending a day there. Tickets can be bought online here.
